There are a variety of ideas on how to fix health care disparities and achieve health equity. These ideas range from social entrepreneurship to Medicare for All, start-ups to activism, innovation to community organizing.

There are tensions between these strategies: what are the proper roles of the public and private sectors, and of non-profits and philanthropy, in ensuring a social safety net? How much socioeconomic inequality is too much? What is our strategic vision for achieving health as a human right? This symposium aims to address these questions through rigorous discussion and debate.

This symposium is co-sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, Primary Care Progress, and the Health Care Initiative at HBS. Please reach out to Khin-Kyemon Aung at with questions.
